Workers’ Compensation – Attorney
San Gabriel or City of Industry, CA
Partially/Fully Remote Position

Job Description

The Workers’ Compensation Attorney is responsible for helping workers who are injured on the job recover compensation for these injuries, including medical bills and lost wages.

Job Qualifications

  • Must be in good standing with the California Bar Association
  • Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in Workers’ Compensation is required
  • Working knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and procedures
  • Ability to choose your home Board for new filings, LA, Van Nuys, Pomona, MDR
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent hands-on computer skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and utilize critical thinking skills

Job Responsibilities

Personal Injury – Attorney

Job Description

The Personal Injury Attorney is responsible for providing injured claimants with the legal advice, guidance and representation required to successfully win compensation.  The attorney will be responsible for handling the case from filing the lawsuit to preparing the matter for trial and all litigation activities in between, with the opportunity for trial experience.  The goal of a personal injury lawsuit is for the claimant to receive monetary compensation for medical expenses, physical suffering, emotional distress, and income lost through inability to work.

Job Qualifications

  • Must be in good standing with the California Bar Association
  • Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in Personal Injury law and a thorough knowledge of the California Discovery Act, including all aspects of discovery and law and motion, is required
  • Working knowledge of Personal Injury laws and procedures
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Able to function with a high level of patience, tact, and diplomacy in handling negative or challenging situations

Immigration – Attorney – Bilingual English/Spanish
San Gabriel, CA

Job Description

Our law firm is currently seeking an Immigration Attorney to serve the Hispanic community. San Gabriel, CA. Proficiency in English and Spanish required.

Job Requirements

Interviewing Potential Clients / Determining Legal Options

  • Conducting in-person and phone consultations with potential clients by assessing the case, deciding on possible avenues of Immigration relief for the client.
  • Creating value to our service when explaining options to the client, such that they will agree to hire our firm at the rate.
  • Research to find legal options available for potential and existing clients.

Legal Work

  • Prepare and oversee filings to USCIS, including but not limited, to family-based petitions, consular processing, DACA, U visas, VAWA, waivers, and asylum applications.
  • Supervise and train legal assistants in the Immigration Department.
  • Review and sign-off on all letters, forms, filings drafted by legal assistants.
  • Write Immigration Court motions, briefs, prepare exhibits, and other filings on behalf of the clients.
  • Prepare for and attend all immigration court hearings scheduled for our clients.
  • Prepare clients in deportation proceedings for their hearings, guide documents they must gather, and prepare them for trial.
  • Visit detained clients, if applicable.

Administrative / Billing Tasks

  • Post case management notes and updates in Smart Advocate.
  • Set tasks for assistants and monitor critical deadlines and calendaring in Smart Advocate.
  • Provide necessary info to the bookkeeper to assist with creating accurate monthly billing statements that are mailed to clients.
  • Monitor billing each month to determine when collection efforts are needed, or which cases must be placed on hold for non-payment of attorney fees.
  • Periodically evaluate the fee structure based on the resources expended on matters and the market demand.

Marketing

  • Create and provide immigration-related material for marketing purpose (film videos, power point, articles, blogs, and other sites.
  • Presenting and attending network immigration seminars and events to expand our reach to the community.
  • Periodic meetings with Marketing team to consult on marketing efforts.

  • Contact the potential client for additional information, if requested by the Managing Attorney
  • Interview client, complete intake report on the case management system, submit the full intake report to Managing Attorney for approval, and all relevant department attorneys / managers for their evaluation of other potential areas of laws
  • After file assignment, creates a Task for the support staff to move the next case to the next step in the process
  • Populate relevant case information in Smart Advocate
  • Filing and serving client’s applications, at the direction of counsel
  • Responsible for processing sub-ins and sub-outs files

The Workers’ Compensation Law Case File Manager will be managing the day to day activities on assigned files under the direction of the handling attorney.
