Attorney – Personal Injury
San Gabriel, CA

Job Description

The Personal Injury Attorney is responsible for providing injured claimants with the legal advice, guidance and representation required to successfully win compensation.  The attorney will be responsible for handling the case from filing the lawsuit to preparing the matter for trial and all litigation activities in between, with the opportunity for trial experience.  The goal of a personal injury lawsuit is for the claimant to receive monetary compensation for medical expenses, physical suffering, emotional distress, and income lost through inability to work.

Job Qualifications

  • Must be in good standing with the California Bar Association
  • Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in Personal Injury law and a thorough knowledge of the California Discovery Act, including all aspects of discovery and law and motion, is required
  • Working knowledge of Personal Injury laws and procedures
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Able to function with a high level of patience, tact, and diplomacy in handling negative or challenging situations
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent hands-on computer skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and utilize critical thinking skills
  • Familiar with case management software, Microsoft Word Suite, Adobe Pro, and other legal technology

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and formulate strategy for litigation pleading, discovery, attend trials, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other case-related meetings
  • Review and supervise the preparation of pleadings, discovery, motions, court orders, demand packages, and other case-related documents
  • Consistent and timely reading of all case documents, including medical/billing records
  • Negotiate settlements for personal injury cases

Case File Manager – Workers’ Compensation
Bilingual English/Mandarin
San Gabriel, CA

Job Description

The Workers’ Compensation Law Case File Manager will be managing the day to day activities on assigned files under the direction of the handling attorney.

Job Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin is required
  • Education: High school or equivalent (preferred)
  • Experience: At least one (1) year experience with workers’ compensation law
  • Accurately type 45 words per minute
  • Demonstrate a team-oriented collaborative work style
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent hands-on computer skills including working in a paperless environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and enjoy daily interaction with the firm’s clients
  • Ability to multi-task and utilize critical thinking skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain personal contact with the firm’s clients to assist them with their case, answer questions, and inform the assigned attorney of significant developments
  • Work closely with handling attorneys to ensure all tasks are completed to keep cases moving toward resolution
  • Maintain assigned attorneys’ calendar for client conferences
  • Set up medical appointments
  • Prepare, file, and serve documents under the direction of the assigned attorney
  • Document the legal file with significant developments
  • Assist the assigned attorney in communication with Mandarin speaking clients

Case File Manager – Immigration
San Gabriel, CA

Job Description

Case File Manager provides legal, administrative, documentation and project support to the Immigration Department.

Job Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English, Mandarin and Spanish required.
  • Experience: Legal – 2 year (Preferred, not required)
  • Education: High school or equivalent (preferred)
  • Demonstrate a team-oriented collaborative work style
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent hands-on computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and utilize critical thinking skills

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working with attorneys in the preparation, filing, and monitoring matters
  • Point of contact for all Hispanic clients with an immigration case
  • Work with clients to gather the necessary information and documentation in a timely manner
  • Saves and scans client documents
  • Draft and mail out important documents
  • Fill out and complete client forms
  • Update clients on case status and answer any questions relating to their case
  • Make and keep track of payments
  • Monitor the status of all filed applications and petitions
  • Coordinate, schedule, and maintain an accurate calendar for the attorney
  • Work with Bookkeeper to review billing and accuracy of statements
  • Make sure the status of cases gets updated – from waiting for docs, to drafting, to filing submitted
  • Determine if cases must be placed on hold for lack of payment
  • Take declarations with clients
  • Draft retainers and conduct sign-ups with new clients, after attorney approval
  • Help interpret with attorney in consultations and other meetings as needed
  • Close cases upon approval/termination, closing letter, and return documents

Legal Assistant (Scheduling) – Workers’ Compensation

Job Description

The Legal Assistant provides administrative, documentation and project support to the Workers’ compensation department, primarily assisting with scheduling doctor’s appointments for injured workers.

  • Education: High school or equivalent (preferred)

Job Description

The Legal Assistant will work closely with the assigned case file manager to help provide the best service for our clients. The candidate will be tasked with various duties including but not limited to drafting documents, conducting legal research, contacting insurance adjusters, and maintaining and organizing files. The candidate will also be tasked with covering the front-desk reception when needed.
