light and\/or noise<\/li>\n<li>Dizziness and\/or poor balance<\/li>\n<li>Nausea and\/or vomiting<\/li>\n<li>Drowsiness and\/or fatigue<\/li>\n<li>Inability to sleep<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Symptoms of a concussion may last for only a few days or as long as several months.\u00a0 Post-concussion syndrome, where concussion symptoms last for several weeks or months is experienced by about 50 percent of people who experienced a minor head injury.\u00a0 15 percent of people were still experiencing symptoms a year later.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s best to discuss your personal situation with your doctor, but common treatment options for concussion include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plenty of rest<\/li>\n<li>Staying hydrated and eating healthy<\/li>\n<li>Avoiding physical activities, including sports or any strenuous exercise<\/li>\n<li>Reducing exposure to bright lights, including the sun or harsh fluorescent lighting<\/li>\n<li>Reducing exposure to loud sounds, such as movie theaters and concert venues<\/li>\n<li>Avoiding activities that require focus, such as work, reading, or video games<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If your symptoms get worse over time, be sure to notify your doctor.\u00a0 If a second
