Immigration Attorney

Yesenia Acosta focuses her practice primarily within the area of Immigration Law.  She manages an immigration department that handles a diverse range of cases including deportation defense, employment and family-based visas, and a variety of cases involving past criminal convictions.  She is sought out as an expert in “crimmigration,” overcoming the immigration consequences of criminal pleas. Her past clients include foreign investors, victims of crime applying for special visas, unaccompanied minors and others seeking asylum, and business entities defending civil suits.  Part of her practice includes civil litigation related to personal injury claims and contractual matters.

Ms. Acosta is admitted to the bar of the State of California. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).  Ms. Acosta frequently leads workshops for professional organizations and community members on immigration in both English and Spanish.

Ms. Acosta serves as the only attorney on the Board of Directors for the San Gabriel Valley Consortium on Homelessness.  In 2016, she was awarded a Congressional Leadership Award by the Office of Congresswoman Judy Chu for her advocacy on behalf of vulnerable populations. Ms. Acosta stands out as a committed attorney who works to promote justice both inside and outside of the courtroom.

Outside of the courtroom, Ms. Acosta enjoys yoga, biking, and visiting the beach.  She is well-traveled, having visited several European and South American countries.  She also loves to visit her family in Mexico and does so every year.
